Clik here to view.The Sand Nativity Scene of Las Canteras Beach, promoted by the City Council of Tourism of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, has received 30.000 visitors in its first four days of exhibition after its opening Thursday the 5th of December.
This work, a reference of Christmas in the Grancanarian capital, has exceeded its expectations of previous years during its first weekend with the visits of citizens and tourists especially cruise ship passengers, and visitors staying in hotels of the south of Gran Canaria who come to the capital exclusively to enjoy this unique Nativity Scene.
Besides its national and international, cultural, artistic and tourist projection of the city thanks to the Sand Nativity Scene, the success on the number of visitors is made clear on its charity spirit. In this regard, the final fund-raising of donations will be given in full to the social soup-kitchens of the city.

Clik here to view.The Sand Nativity Scene, with an área of 1500 square metres, has been built by 6 sand sculptors: Aleksei Dyakov, Vadim Gryadov and Mikhail Fedotov, from Russia; Peter Busch-Jensen, from Denmark; Michela Ciappini, from Italy, and Jonay Ruiz, of Gran Canaria, Spain.
The Sand Nativity Scene can be visited until January the 6th, festivity of the Three Kings, between 9am and 10pm.
